Focus: hold land use/open space workshop designed to equip municipal officials with tools, including ordinance changes, to deal with nonpoint source pollution resulting from land development, agricultural enterprises and in-stream flow reductions from groundwater withdrawal from the high quality trout stream. Design and distribute a newsletter.

Focus: The coalition will coordinate local resources to develop
an educational program for middle school students and the community
that focuses on protection of Standing Stone Creek, the community's
drinking water source water. The group will make recommendation to
the local governmental agency regarding a comprehensive watershed
assessment.

Grant: $ 2,610
Focus: To sponsor a Town Meeting as part of their effort to
clean up Muddy Run Watershed. The Town Meeting focused on educating,
and promoting cooperation between, the general public, the local advisory
committee, local government, and the middle school environmental club.
Accomplishments: The Town Meeting was held in April 1998.
About 100 people attended the meeting, which was televised by the
Huntingdon TV Cable Company. The meeting was videotaped and a copy
is on file with the Sponsor. An informational brochure was developed
and disseminated to educate community members and promote the group's
activities. A full-page newspaper article in The Daily News summarized
the results of the meeting, the new partnerships formed during the
project, and the group's future plans for improving the watershed
