Project Title: Rain Barrel Education
Area to be protected: Delaware and Susquehanna rivers
Partners: Carbon County Environmental Education Center, Carbon and Northumberland County Conservation Districts, Carbon County Groundwater Guardians, Wilkes University.
Focus: The Pocono Northeast RC&D Council and partners will develop a series of stormwater management workshops for local communities and municipalities about how to plan for and manage stormwater to improve water quality and prevent flooding. Each community participant attending the workshops will construct their own rain barrel to help become part of the solution and to aid understanding that implementation begins with each property owner taking responsibility to manage their own runoff.

Project Title: Southeast Project Grass Grazing and Pasture Management Planner

Focus: develop a 12-month Grazing and Pasture Management Planner illustrating Best Management Practices of pasture management that have been shown to be effective at lowering risks of pollution to drinking water supplies.

Partners: Clarks Green, Dallas and Port Clinton Boroughs; Delaware Township, Lackawanna College, EPCAMR, Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Nothumberland and Schuykill County Conservation Districts
Focus: survey municipal officials, publish and distribute a stormwater management handbook, develop a website, and host workshops focusing on best management practices aimed at local officials whose efforts include reducing nonpoint source pollution in streams and rivers located in the 10 county region.
