Tap Into Prevention:
Drinking Water Information for Health Care Providers
Doctors, nurses, local health
officials and other health professionals play an important role in preventing
waterborne illness. This continuing education video explains potential
health risks from exposure to microbial and chemical contaminants in
drinking water and demonstrates actions health care providers can take
in their practices. The video features doctors, nurses, and local health
officials who discuss the connection between drinking water and health
in their communities. EPA, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
and its Agency for Toxic Substances and Diseases Registry jointly cosponsor
this continuing education activity.

Training Program for Wellhead Protection Implementation Training (Slide
Set)
A nine-module slide set for training in wellhead protection, each module
comes with extensive notes and background information as well as a list
of key points to cover for each slide. The modules are: Overview (16
slides), Delineation (34), Identifying contaminant sources (26), Management
approaches (63), Financing wellhead protection (19), Contingency planning
(20), Tools for Indian tribes Compendium of local ordinances Summary
of EPA publications. With these materials a program of any length can
be developed, ranging from a brief overview of groundwater to a full
workshop on wellhead protection implementation. The materials are presented
in such a way that they can be used by someone familiar with the subject
of wellhead protection, but not necessarily an expert on the topic.
